random drawing 001

Totally random drawing.
I start experimenting different line colors lately. And I've been using color #333333 for my sketches. It's not quite black which makes me feel less obligated to draw "final-look" right the first time. Then I'll be relax and draw better (0-0)/*

It's all in my head, I guess :p

By the way, Nicktoons will be on mobile tour this weekend in New York City area.
The show I'm working on called "Kappa Mikey" will be featured on the tour as well.
Stop by if you're in the area.

Eatin' some "Big Apples"

Excuse our lack of updates, but we've been in a whirlwind of changes...

Firstly, Fawn and I have sold our cars, packed up our computers, our art, and our pet rat, Phantom, and moved to New York City. We've got a great space in Astoria that overlooks a 24-hour McDonald's. As much as I've boycotted the food before, we've been drawn to the dollar menu, fudge sundaes and the limited time only Coke floats. Actually, there's so much great food around us (and I don't include McDonald's in the label "great food"), that it's a good thing we walk everywhere.

Secondly, we're working on two television shows for Animation Collective (who's stationed in Manhattan, only a few blocks from Times Square): 1) Season 2 of "Kappa Mikey," the American-anime comedy, for the Nicktoons network and 2) the first season of "Ellen's Acres," a great-looking new preschool show (think of a slightly psychotic version of Dora the Explorer, but with a much bigger imagination) that will be aired on Cartoon Network this fall. Both shows utilize Flash, symbol-based techniques and KM has the hand-drawn anime, as well.

We're excited about our new changes in work and atmosphere...almost like we're on a vacation in another country (cuz everyone in our neighborhood speaks a language that isn't English) with lots to do and see...and being paid to make characters act. You can't get much better than that.

For legal reasons, we can't display the art of these Animation Collective shows yet, but we'll surely post their air times when they're set!
